beliefs
We are a body of Christians who follow the teachings and example of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Our faith is in Him. We believe that the Bible is the living and true Word of God. It is an account of God’s faithfulness and love for all of us, and the guide for the way we live our lives.
the bible
We believe the Bible is the word of God, the final authority for faith and life as a Christian. It constitutes the divine and only rule of the Christian faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16).
God
We believe that God eternally exists in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Isaiah 44:6; 45:5-6; Matthew 5:48; Deut. 32:4; Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19).
Jesus Christ
We Jesus Christ is true God and true man who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, died on a cross for our sin and rose from the dead. He is now at the right hand of the Majesty on high as our great High Priest. He will come again to establish His kingdom of righteousness and peace. Philippians 2:6-11; Hebrews 2:14-18; Colossians 2:9; Matthew 1:18; Luke 1:35; 6. 1 Corinthians 15:3-5; 1 John 2:2; Acts 13:39; Hebrews 4:14-15; 9:24-28; Matthew 25:31-34; Acts 1:11
Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine Person, sent to indwell, guide, teach, and empower believers for service and to convict the world of sin. We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, baptism with the Holy Spirit and the manifestations of the Holy Spirit including speaking in tongues, prophecies and other fruits of the Holy Spirit. John 14:16-17; 10. John 16:7-11; 1 Corinthian 2:10-12. Galatians 5:22-23: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Sin and Falling of Man
Humans were originally created in the image and likeness of God, but fell due to disobedience. The sin of disobedience separates humans from God. Only the atoning death of Jesus is able to save mankind (2 Peter 1:20-21; 12. Genesis 1:27; 13. Romans 8:8; 1 John 2:2; 14; Matthew 25:41-46; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10).
salvation
Salvation is provided only through Jesus Christ. Those who repent and believe in Him are united with Christ through the Holy Spirit and are thereby regenerated (born again), justified, sanctified and granted the gift of eternal life as adopted children of God. We believe that the only remedy for man’s sin is to receive, through faith and forgiveness provided through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Titus 3:5-7; Acts 2:38; John 1:12; 1 Corinthians 6:11).
Living in Union with Jesus Christ
In union with Christ, Christians are sanctified thereby separated from sin and the world and fully dedicated to God, receiving power for holy living, sacrificial and effective service toward the completion of Christ’s commission. This is accomplished by being filled with the Holy Spirit, which is both a distinct event and progressive experience in the life of the believer (1 Thessalonians 5:23; Acts 1:8; Romans 12:1-2; Galatians 5:16-25).
The Healing Power of God
Prayer for the sick and anointing with oil as taught in the Scriptures are privileges for the Church in this present age. We believe that God does not only hear and answer prayers; He also heals (Matthew 8:16-17; James 5:13-16).
the church
Christ is the Head of the Church. We believe in coming together of local churches; like-minded in encouragement and mission. The church consists of all those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, are redeemed through His blood, regenerated by the Holy Spirit, and commissioned by Christ to go into the world as witnesses, preaching the Gospel to all nations. We believe that the church, joined together in the worship of God, should observe the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper, pray, in order to be edified through the Word of God, fellowship, and testify in word and deed to the good news of salvation both locally and globally (Acts 2:41-47; Hebrew 10:25; Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8, 11:19-30; 15; Ephesians 3:6-12; 1:22-23).
Second Coming of Jesus Christ
We believe that the second coming of Jesus Christ will be personal and visible. We live in this hope and as encouragement for holy living and sacrificial service in furtherance of the great commission by Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; 1 Corinthians 1:7; Titus 2:11-14; Matthew 24:14; 28:18-20
